Redondela

Ayuntamiento (Town Hall)
Redondela is often called 'the town of viaducts', owing to the two 19th century railroad viaducts in town (one serving the Madrid line, and the other the Pontevedra line).
The nearby Praia de Cesantes, only two kilometres to the north, is a perfect place to take a day off.

What to see
Illa de San Simón
The Island of Saint Simon (linked to the smaller Illa de San Antón by a stone bridge) was first inhabited by the Knights Templar in the 12th century. Later it served as a leper colony, a jail during the Spanish Civil War, and an orphanage during the Franco era.
